Hello Peeps,
Happy Friday and I'm back with nail tutorial? uhm.. i wouldn't say it's a tutorial tho, just some random nail do as always. but today entry will be a little bit different, as i'm adding up Decal paper for some extra touch.
in case some of you aren't familiar with what water decal paper is, you can check it out HERE.
It basically made out of the decal paper which commonly use for printing photos, with a layer of thin plastic stenciled with small images.
Well, if you couldn't find the desired design that you're looking for.. go make you own, here's how DIY Nail Art Decals by Janelle
Alright, let's get started with these :
(left - right):
* Etude Glitter Polish, "Dear My Party Nails" (PBK803)
* OPI Shimmer Polish "Designer De Better"
* OPI Original Nail Envy (use this as a base coat to protect your nails)
* Decal paper of your choice (i got mine HERE)
* Nail art Tweezer
* Mini OPI shade "Lincon Park After Dark"
* OPI "Alpine Snow"
* Sallyhandsen "Mega Shine" top coat
* (opssy.. i forgotten) Dotting tool/Bobbi pin or toothpick
Basic starter, protect all your finger nails by applying base coat
Next apply "Alpine Snow" on your pinky, ring and thumb
And, "Lincon Park After Dark" on middle and index finger nails
Dust on Etude Glitter Polish, "Dear My Party Nails" on both
Once it done, you can start cut out the decal paper
(a little) Tips from me :
- try to cut the images as close as possibly to the edge like what i did to minimize the excessive decal to taper out when you place it onto your nails (you know, ladies who has a shoulder length layered hair that always taper out like a ducky butt.. that's what i'm talking).
- because the material is plastic, unlike nail stickers i personally find it hard to put in place. due to the 'hardness' which later, i experimented by soaking the decal paper in hot water. and that's actually works to soften the plastic a little.
guess it all subject to material used by each decal brand
- lastly, place the decal on 'not so dry' painted nails, because the semi-dry consistency of nail polish actually helps to hold the decal. just gently press it down a little with a tweezer or even your finger tip, but make sure you don't leave any finger print out of the surface.
Now soak the cut decal in the water, like 30 to 40 Seconds
Place the decal on the fingers, you may have some water come with it. it's totally fine, just remove the excessive water with some cotton bud to clear the decal edge
Next, draw out some OPI Shimmer Polish "Designer De Better". by using the dotting tool, create a big dot on the center and tiny dots on each side to add on some extra detail for your pinky and thumb fingers.
Seal it with a generous amount of top coat and you're good to go
Till Then,
Have a Great Day
Much Love <3
