Hai Di Lao Hotpot Singapore (Best Hotpot in town!!)

Hi Peeps

I'm back with another food post, so last friday my gf and i was trying out on 1 of the most famous hotpot chain from china Hai Di Lao.

errr... wait a min, just a quick clarification when i say gf (mean Girl Friend). i know it might be a bit confusing because you guys probably wonder, it's Valentine's day where most girl spend some loving moment with their beau and here i am with my girl friend. LOL
as retarded as it might sound, but we are 101% straight (well, at least i am. Mithya, are you?!) hahahah..

So here, Hai Di Lao hotpot *i'll elaborate further on the location at the end of the post

Initially i was attempted to make a booking via phone call a week earlier, but unfortunately it's all fully book as expected.
so believe it or not, le gf actually took a day off to get in the waiting list quicker rather than having to wait for both of us to finished work and go #freak LOL

She arrived at 5 pm, and the queue number she got is already 55, i reached there around 6 and upon entering the restaurant, i was greet by warm and friendly staff along with the sweet Valentine theme decoration along the waiting hall

'mini' part of the guess, trust me it's a lot more crowded in real as the night get older there are bunch of people on the wait

Upon waiting there are waiters running back and forth offering FREE FLOW snack, fresh fruit, drinks, warm dessert and it's all FREE OF CHARGE!

Banana chips & Pop corn

Orange & longan and drink

Some random chinese dessert (which unfortunately i don't quite understand what it called, because the lady only explain in chinese and i was like .... never mind, i shall grab a bowl to try LOL) it was great and appetizing, not too sweet and the texture of the congee desert was incredibly soft

according to le gf, before i arrived. there were a couple, man with a ukulele and lady in white dress giving out roses to the ladies in conjunction of Valentine's day
ps : these are real flower

Children play room

oh well, we're not quite done yet. there is also express manicure service available, but of course it's better to pre-book in advance before going to the restaurant or else you'll end up with another precious hours queueing for the mani service as there is only 2 manicurist on duty.

After 3 hours of wait, we're finally seated and given a freshly steam towel to refresh and ipad to place our order.

tho it was mobile ordering via ipad, but all i gotta say it's easy to use and fuss free. thank god there is english language available LOL
worry that 1 portion is way too much, you can always op for 1/2

while waiting for the food to be serve (which is really2 quick, like the whole table was set under 10 minutes)
i roam around to take some photos of the surrounding

Sumptuous spread of condiments, dessert, and fresh fruits

Booom!! return to table with a table full of love and freshness overload

we ordered :

Half Sicuan Mala soup, and Half Chicken Soup

Various type of fresh seafood paste & meat balls

Fish (couldn't recall what kind of fish we ordered LOL)

Marinated Chicken

Dumplings

Mushrooms

scallops

Pork belly slice

luncheon

and a cup of Liang Teh (cooling tea) to tame the heat down

Two of the hungry whore who is so ready to nom *apron fasten
bring it on!!

While we were eating, the next table guest was ordering some handmade noodle that come with some kungfu noodle master in action, moment of truth
completely handmade on the spot

Quite some show i would say, hahahah.. after almost 2 hours, technically we eat up everything except with a bit of mushrooms left.

like really if i could, then i wouldn't let any single left over happen. but we were instantly happily pregnant with all the goodness already, so we end our happy feast with

Water melon & Dou Hua (soy bean curd)

if you guys ever eat Lao Ban bean curd, it taste exactly the same or even better. i don't do bullshit, so have a try on your own ☺̱̱̱

FYI, you may want to bring some 'Chinese speaking' friends along or if you speak Chinese, good for you because Chinese ls the only language the waiters speak.
Notice why i didn't include all the food prices like i usually does? it's because it's all written in Chinese and i'm chines blind LOL. just in case you need for reference, here you go

Yes, that's the final bill for 2 with the food we've chosen, i'm not gonna lie. it's indeed pricey, BUT considering what we get.. it worth every pennies spent
I'm horrible when it comes to describing food, but if i gotta pick 1 single word to summarize the entire dining experience from food to ambiance it's no doubt gotta be AWESOME!!

✓ Spacious seat
✓ Fresh food at it finest

  • No pre/manufacture made frozen products like the average steamboat place offer you
  • Authentically rich and flavorful soup broth, you wouldn't have the feeling of tasting watery soup made out of block stock cubes

✓ Quick and attentive staff, not to mention every serving comes with endless smile (smile is something simple, but we don't find it often anywhere in Singapore #ironic)
✓ Quality food
✓ Wide range of food choices available

Oh boy, i can carry on and on and .. on, just because i extremely happy with everything. my 1st dining experience has changed my entire perspective towards steamboat/hotpot eatery, never gonna see steamboat/hotpot the same way..

anyway, if you guys plan to visit. here's the full address

#02-04, Clarke Quay
3D River Valley Road
Phone : 63378626
Operating Hours Daily: 10:30 - 03:00

It might be a bit difficult to find this restaurant, as it 'hidden' on the 2nd floor along the shophouses at Qlark Quay.
for a quicker find if you guys are taking MRT, walk your way out to the main door (opposite G-Max Reverse Bungy) and cross the bridge on your left side before the riverside point, walk all the way to the end of the bridge, and you'll be able to see the sign board (refer to 1st pic)

Big Fat Thank You beau for dropping by to gave the 2 of us some valentine spice (ɔ ˘⌣˘)♥(˘⌣˘ c) and Cio for being my all year every year valent-date (っ˘з˘)っ

I'm done spaming people

Till Then,
Have a Great Day

Much Love ♥
